|OWNER OF THE YEAR FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT YEAR!
Ginna Frantz, Owner, Grand Prix Equestrian Does It Again
The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has named Ginna Frantz of Chicago, IL, Owner of The Year in Dressage for the 5th straight year. Frantz is the developer and owner of Grand Prix Equestrian, a premier equestrian facility in Maple Park, IL.
With a point score of 4150.5, the highest ever for Frantz and her team of equine champions, Grand Prix Equestrian ranked at the top of a list of over 7300 owners in the field.
"We really wanted to go for the five-peat in 2011," says Frantz. "It was hard work for everyone, most especially my trainers and riders at KYB Dressage, but we knew the end result would be worth it."
Every year, equine owners compete in USEF-approved shows across the country to earn the prestigious title of Owner of the Year in their various categories. GPE and Frantz have held on strong to the title for dressage even with the competition growing fiercer each year. "I believe that other competitors took special note of the rankings in 2011 realizing that Ginna could be a five-year winner," says Yvonne Barteau of KYB Dressage and Frantz's head trainer. "No question others were after the title!" But in fact, Frantz came away 300 plus points ahead of the next competitor.
Frantz's champion horses that helped bring home the award include GP Raymeister, a 10-year old Holsteiner stallion now showing at the highest level of dressage under Barteau—The Grand Prix—and himself a repeat champion at most levels in previous years. Also, GP Delano, GP Ubilee, GP Leo, GP Super Crusader and Sarasanna GP.
Grand Prix Equestrian and KYB Dressage added a new member to their training staff. Jessica Starck joined the team and paired up with GP Super Crusader a seven year old Stedinger gelding. The pair won many blues at Second and Third level and captured the Regional title with their stunning third level freestyle.
"I have amazing horses, incredible trainers and an exception facility in which to work. I'm very fortunate and grateful," says Frantz. "2012 should be another successful year for us. Maybe we'll go for 6!"
